Three cases:

Her manner was quite dense, she looked like a great lady, or any “ñapanga”,  she used to dance the minuet with equal perfection as the “cachuca” (Cacan). She became a recluse in a convent and soon after a lover kidnapped her.She was married to an English doctor and, as soon as the opportunity arose, she left him. She was known for being sexually liberated and having straight pants like men. A lesbian, orgiastic and  zoophilic and not only a hero but precursor of the GLBT movement … “the crazy” Some called her : “You have to know that she never left a slave girl … She was the shadow of her owner, perhaps … also the lover of his mistress “Who I am adducing to is no other than the” Liberator of the Libertador “Manuelita Sáenz . She was an active, methodical and passionate women: she became the favorite corduroy of Simon, “the loving foster” , she took care of the Libertador in every political action performed. She freaked out for Bolivar, once brutally scratching him because of an earring found in his bed. Among the wonders of She-colonel, we can remember an spectacular bacchanal in the Tequendama, “he or she” knew how to fight alone with men of weapons and state (including the Admiral Illingwonrth), drunk to the point almost killed by excessive and exacerbation of their senses: Manuelita at the edge of the ravine, “she was dangerously gesturing … Dr. Cheyne realized the dangers in which this drunk and crazy woman was in, since she caught herself on a tree by rolling a magnificent long braids to her left arm of the unwise who seemed determined to jump into the void. “

Bolivar once dispatched his beloved Manuelita to Ecuador, who, after landing in Guayaquil departed to Quito accompanied by an escort of 4 Grenadiers chosen by herself, among the best men in the squad and marched in short days, “no other maid stood by her side”  and five days later she reached her hometown. An indiscretion by Brigadier allowed the incidents and their erotic nature to be known. ” Then, Bolívar asked her to leave with her husband. “She loved animals and owned a cub … One morning I visited Manuelita, who had not risen yet, I went to the bedroom and saw a terrifying scene, the bear was lying on her mistress, with his horrible claws resting on her breasts “…” You see, Manuela said, showing her breasts, I’m not hurt. ” She said: “It is a proven friend, but a faithless and infidel lover.” Her life was eccentric … She never tried to hide the lightness of her actions : we were her confessors and adored her. Bolivar idolized and envied her to excess. ” We owe Jean-Baptiste Boussingault these quotes.

The Colombian Historian Isidoro Medina says that “the Libertador” was “a depressive maniac with genocidal tendencies”. Lets see one of his most obscure episodes in which Bolivar showed no mercy. “On February 1st, the Spanish general Boves moved towards Caracas along with his cavalry divisions. The Patriot Campo Elias tries to stop them in La Puerta, but he is defeated. When Bolivar gets the news, he summons his troops in Valencia. Then, in La Guaira, full of prisoners and with few soldiers, he decides that the only path left is to execute them all (the prisioners) including those who were sick. Arismendi, so frightened of the great massacre that was about to take place there, refuses to obey Bolivar; he challenges the order, but the Libertador insist that all prisoners should be executed, with no mercy for anyone“. We know these testimonies from the same Bolivar, in his last letter to general Juan Jose Flores, first president of Ecuador. “You know that I have commanded for 20 years these armies, and of these quests I have received little reward. The American continent cannot be governed from our side.  Those who make a revolution are trying to harvest in the sea. The only thin left to do in the American continent is to emigrate. This country (Colombia) will fall into the hands of a bloodthirsty mob, who will later be dominated by small tyrants of all colors and races. The Europeans would not dare to reconquer us, devoured by the ferocity and the crimes of this war. If there is a place in the world in which we could go back to the original chaos of early times of manking, that would be the Americas.

The diplomatic relationships established between Ecuador and the Axis powers, with special emphasis with Nazi Germany, were from the beginning more than friendly. That is the case of Federico Páez, who, in a unique action made by a president around the world, refused, through the Chancellery in a session of the Society of Nations,  to promote sanctions against Germany, because of the “violation” of the “Dictate” of Versailles, and finally beheaded the process by not assisting to the rest of the sessions in Geneva. Moreover, Dr. Páez “surprisingly” recognized and cheered the 1930´s Italian invasion of Ethiopia, supporting the Fascist Italian government. Der Fuhrer agrees with Ecuador, too, when he wrote: It will be my most sincere efforts to cooperate between Ecuador and Germany”. Adolf Hitler to Jose María Velasco Ibarra, ex President, in a letter dated november 1934.

Manuelita Saenz a sexopath, Bolivar bipolar and genocidal? Did Ecuador support the nazis and the fascist? It is difficult to accept these facts, specially when we are accustomed to a history that looks like a comic rather than a reality: Godly characters, superheroes’ like, more idolized by fans than by critics and historians: certified myths to help those who control the power to have their justification to be there, alongside with fear and ignorance or in fake understanding and learning. That is the suppor of modern official history, a history that supports the myth of society, of modern society. What is important in history and essential of its processes is lost in the lines of school texts, where teachers and educators preach about heroes who never existed and teach a history according to those who won. A revision and a resistance to those false historical thesis that have been taught like dogmas is required in order to understand what we are. Official history poisoned us with false concepts that were useful to those who had million interpretations and which helped only to those handling power. History is an instrument of power. “He who controls the past controls the future: he who controls the present controls the past” George Orwell.
